Our History

history2Fox Brothers Tailors has been Chicago’s premier choice for custom-made apparel since the early 1940’s. A pioneer in the custom clothing industry, Fox Brothers was founded and established by Harold C. Fox in 1935.

Fox was a tailor, world renowned bandleader and inventor of the first ever “zoot suit”. An exaggerated version of the 1940’s double breasted business suit, the “zoot suit” was altered for a more casual look and feel.

The walls of Fox Brothers’ downtown Chicago showroom are saturated with history and culture. As our business has grown and evolved over the span of 8 generations, our core values and beliefs have remained the same. We believe in keeping the art of bespoke tailoring alive by allowing our clients to have complete control of the custom tailored process. A custom made suit is as unique as the individual wearing it, and should reflect one’s style and personality.
